Hello, Everyone,
This is my first time writing a blog, so it might take me a while to get my act together.
So, first off, a little bit about me. I am a newly divorced mother of very young children, trying to live on child support and using the welfare system to help get by. I am writing this because I know there are many people like myself and we are not the stereotype of the Welfare Queen. The upside to the current economic problems are that more and more people who never HAD to have any kind of public assistance before are now receiving help. This means that the old stigma and shame of asking for help are fading, granted, there are still some who will think of us as leaches on society, but we must do our best to ignore or educate them. While I don't want to sound as if I'm wishing economic troubles on anyone, the old saying that you can't know someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes is very true and I only wish to show the truth about how we live and offer a place to discuss our troubles and trials and offer a little bit of advice too.
